Statement on the House Passing of the Build Back Better Act

On Friday, November 19, the House of Representatives passed the Build Back Better Act, marking a significant milestone. While it will still need to be considered and voted on in the Senate, today Representatives, including Congressman Welch, affirmed the importance of supporting the programs and systems that serve families and young children, as well as the early childhood professionals doing critical work.
Over the last couple of months, Building Bright Futures has been closely monitoring the reconciliation bill as it relates to child care, universal pre-K, and many other foundational programs that support young children and their families. To learn more about the bill and BBF’s role in monitoring the legislation and readying Vermont for this potential historic investment, watch our Executive Director, Morgan Crossman’s statementon the vote.
