Franklin Grand Isle Regional Recap November 2018

The council has been in the process of hiring a new regional coordinator for the past few months. We are excited to share that the position has been filled by Elizabeth Hamel. Liz has been in direct service work for the past 5 ½ years, specifically in early childhood mental health and early special education. Liz’s experience has highlighted for her how effective and supportive systems, home, and community-based services can be for children and families. Liz has lived in Vermont her whole life and is passionate about supporting all Vermonters in their paths to health, wellness and community. Please extend a warm welcome to Liz as she transitions into her new role December 3rd.

Delta Dental generously donated 144 child sized toothbrushes, 144 Crest toothpaste trial tubes and 144 dental flosses to hand out at our Parent Child Center’s annual Fall Fest & Halloween Celebration. All donations were distributed to local families.

Many of our NCSS Children’s Integrated Services staff are scheduled to be trained in the Universal Developmental Screening Registry. This large, cross-sector team will be working with Help Me Grow to implement a successful training for CIS staff.

Council members have demonstrated flexibility and accountability during the interim period of searching for a new regional coordinator. The council has continued to support the community and is excited for the role to be filled!
