Central Vermont Recap, March 2018

As Central Vermont approaches a revision of our Regional Action Plan, we are excited to be adding a focus on enhancing and improving family leadership and family engagement in the systems of supports for Vermont’s young families. We begin this work by mapping out where current family engagement is most effective, and then by using a recently released assessment tool, developed in California with Central Vermont input, from the CSSP.

The rate of increase in income inequality here in Vermont remains a troubling indicator of a system that does not contribute to equity for all Vermonters. It is these data that bring people together each month.

The Central Vermont Regional Council continues to support and celebrate collaboration and integration, and the Council table has been serving as a brainstorming and networking meeting each month. The Council has been supporting members who are keen to advocate by by creating a space for members to provide updates on political and legislative developments with their colleagues across sectors.

Crosswalking and unifying multiple public and agency plans with the Early Childhood Action Plan to revise our Regional Action plan will be a good part of our activity in the next several months.
