Central Vermont Recap June 2019


We were pleased with the attendance, the conversations and feedback at the first and the seventeenth STARs Evolution Phase 2 Road show.

Increased focus and collaboration around Perinatal Mental Health has been working well in Central Vermont as a number of Council Members found themselves around the table at the Central Vermont Medical Center assisting in the planning for the Climb out of Darkness event that was held on the weekend of June 15. This work has prepared the region well for the
STAMPP grant work in process for the next year.

Together with Capstone Head Start, the Council is working on engaging with families for the upcoming family engagement work supported by the Preschool Development Grant. We are anxious to receive the federal funding for this project in order to successfully on-board families who are interested in engaging with our work.

This spring, the BBF Council was able to help advise a partner as they considered building a significant child care center –  key in the region due to the profound shortage here. Hopefully the project will advance from plan to reality.
