Central Vermont Recap January 2019

In Central Vermont we are beginning to refocus our conversations on how our planning can dovetail with significant state efforts such as the Vermont State Health Improvement Plan and the efforts of our Accountable Community for Health. As we look to address the core issues around equity for all Vermont families, we continue to find data and anecdotal evidence  that emphasize how those who live with less have fewer chances of positive health outcomes and fewer and fewer ways to succeed.

The rate of increase in income inequality here in Vermont remains a troubling indicator of a system that does not contribute to equity for all Vermonters. It is these data that bring people together each month.

The Central Vermont Regional Council continues to support and celebrate collaboration and integration, and the Council table has been serving as a brainstorming and networking meeting each month. The Council has been actively supporting members who are keen to advocate by keeping everyone up to date on political developments while remaining neutral.

Crosswalking and unifying multiple public and agency plans with the Early Childhood Action Plan to revise our Regional Action plan will be a significant part of our activity in the next several months.
