Regional Council Meetings: On June 4, 2018, Our BBF Regional council met to review our ONE BBF Action Plan and celebrate our BBF accomplishments. Members participated  in a group activity and identified upcoming strategies and action steps for the upcoming fiscal year.  July 2018- June 2019.

 A few priority strategies/ action steps include:

  • Promote Help Me Grow to medical practitioners, community partners and parents
  • Continue to build and maintain regional Early MTSS leadership team
  • Collaborate with NEKPA Starting Points Network and Lets Grow Kids to promote the importance of high quality, affordable childcare
  • Support professional development opportunities for early childhood professionals (i.e. developmental milestones, social emotional development, trauma informed practices and community resources )
  • Offer parent education opportunities for families with young children
  • Support opportunities for caregivers of young children to enhance social connections, learn about child development and access resources to meet families’ basic needs
  • Provide information about child development/ milestones, safe sleep, and community services (i.e. Welcome baby Bags, community events);Support other fun, family events such as Messy Play days in collaboration with community partners

We do not have a July 2018 regional council meeting.

Our next ONE BBF Regional Council meeting is scheduled for August 6, 2018.

 A Year in Review- ONE BBF Accomplishments identified:

  • Hired and oriented new BBF Coordinator
  • Promise Community representation and support for North Troy and Newport Communities
  • Advocacy training sponsored in November in collaboration of NEKPA and LGK
  • Provided coordination for NEK Bright Futures Regional Dinner in December 2017
  • Hosted VT Early Childhood Alliance Presentation with Kelly Ault – December 2017
  • Transforming the Early Childhood Professional development system presentation with Becky Millard- CCV
  • Hosted Act 166 Public forums on February 5 and February 6, 2018
  • Reconvened Early MTSS Leadership Team in ONE
  • Drafted ONE Early MTSS Mission & Vision statements and developed Early MTSS Regional Action Plan
  • Hosted Annual Dabble Day event in April 2018
  • Supported Parade of the Young Child- May 2018
  • Promoted Help Me Grow (HMG) through outreach efforts through-out the year
  • Hosted HMG presentation in May 2018
  • Implemented BBF Welcome Baby Bag Initiative at two pilot sites – North Country Pediatrics and Border Pediatrics
  • Evaluating child care issue in ONE through BBF council forums and child care survey
  • Distributed children’s books at Dabble Day, Parade of the Young Child. In addition, donated books to the Vermont Department of Health Newport District office and North Country Pediatrics
