Lamoille Regional Council Recap – July 2017

The Lamoille Regional Council has celebrated three wonderful years of the Playroom – as we closed it down (unfortunately) and packed it up. The Playroom had been an open drop in playspace based on the Waterbury Children’s room that had been donated to Building Bright Futures rent and utilities included, by the HA Manosh Corporation in Morrisville. Each of the last three years saw over 500 unique visitors to the space – a place to play, meet, and learn about early childhood. We are sad to see it go, but look forward to a renewed focus on BBF’s core work.

The Council also worked to respond to some challenges including understanding why the CIS case rate is targeted to be even lower shortly in Lamoille, and to support a new area preschool collaborative.

Finally, we were engaged with the work of the three developing Promise Communities projects in our Region: learning and supporting those efforts in Eden, Craftsbury and Morrisville.
