The State of Vermont’s Children

At the start of each year, The State of Vermont’s Children provides Vermont’s policymakers, educators, caregivers, health practitioners, business leaders, and community members with an objective, data-driven assessment of the well-being of young children and families in Vermont.

The State of Vermont’s Children: 2023 Year in Review includes the 2024 Policy Recommendations of the Vermont Early Childhood State Advisory Council Network, a spotlight on perinatal health and well-being, and a profile for each of Vermont’s 12 Building Bright Futures regions, which align with the Agency of Human Services Districts.

A Data-Rich Report

The State of Vermont’s Children: Year in Review provides an objective, data-driven assessment of the state of young child and family well-being in Vermont, as well as progress on selected indicators and outcomes for the early care, health, and education systems, and recommendations on how best to improve child and family well-being.

The wealth of information in the report sheds light on the economic, social, health, and educational conditions for children in Vermont.
