Early Childhood Grand Rounds provide a forum to elevate and disseminate high-quality data or data-related topics that affect Vermont’s early childhood sector, as well as national best practices.
In order to support decision-makers in creating data-informed policies that reflect the needs of all families and children in the state, we need to capitalize on efforts to elevate qualitative and quantitative data that tell the stories of those with lived experiences, especially those representing marginalized or vulnerable populations.
Early Childhood Grand Rounds bring experts from across the country (alongside Vermont experts) into a virtual webinar/discussion space to do a deeper dive into data challenges, opportunities, and lessons learned. This webinar series includes panel discussions and single speakers.

The VECAP Data and Evaluation Committee, which is composed of over 30 public and private partners, meets quarterly to discuss early childhood data efforts, challenges, limitations, priorities, and opportunities.
This Committee of data experts review key themes that arise during quarterly meetings to identify priorities for Early Childhood Grand Rounds. Once a priority area is identified, the Committee brainstorms the nation’s leading experts in that area and invites one to three speakers to serve as a keynote or panel. By identifying additional expertise, identifying national best practices, and elevating key data, Vermont can have a more full picture of who is being adequately served and whether or not we are missing specific groups or communities when administering programs or delivering services.
