Lamoille Regional Council Recap – May 2018
In the Lamoille Valley we’ve been pleased to work with our partners at Help Me Grow and the Lamoille Family Center fund several great workshops for parents, and to support a number of expansions of the ever critical playgroup program. This spring we’re helping to run an outdoor spring playgroup with a new partner, the Lamoille Nature Center, and we’ll continue playgroups through the summer – a long requested extension – so parents and kids remain connected to friends and resources beyond the typical school year playgroup format.
We’re honored to be participating in an experimental systems integration measurement project with our national partners at the Center for the Study of Social Policy. This is part of systems-building work Scott Johnson and Steve Ames have been engaged in with CSSP for some time – along with the DULCE program at Appleseed Pediatrics. The council will be participating in a comprehensive early childhood assessment next month when DULCE’s funders will bring an evaluation team in to interview early childhood providers and professionals, as well as families in the community.
Well, then there are bedbugs. BBF, being a neutral convener, has been helping to connect services and supports to address a bedbug issue that has recently popped up. Hopefully, this is the last you’ll hear of it!
