Central Vermont Regional Council Recap – September 2018
Central Vermont’s first Council meeting of the fall focused on networking and planning for our October Candidates Breakfast – a tradition in the Region which brought together more than twenty candidates last election. This year’s event is planned for Downstreet in Barre on Friday, October 19 from 7:30AM – 9:30AM. It will be moderated by Anne Latulippe, and candidates will have three questions to ponder in advance. We’ve developed those questions to inform and educate as much as provide a statement about policy, so we’re hopeful that those who are continuing on to the legislature will be better versed in the complexities that surround early childhood policy.
Our just released a survey as an application to expend $5,000 to support professional development for child care providers and trainings for centers and other groups supporting early childhood in Central Vermont. For those connected to the region, please encourage folks to apply for support: The quick application can be found here. (and here: https://goo.gl/forms/CDXcQqhyL9f7tqz63).
Finally, the Council is working to understand better the different perspectives about pre Kindergarten – from public providers, private providers, and parents – in order to support implementation and access.
